Gaming Realms Co-Founder Simon Collins Steps Down From Non-Executive Director Role

Co-founder of Gaming Realms, Simon Collins, has announced his retirement from his non-executive director position. He will immediately withdraw from mobile game developer’s board.

No explanation was given for his departure. The only thing confirmed was that he no longer held this position as of October 11, 2019.

Big Contribution
Gaming Realms was founded in 2012. Collins’ pivotal role was in developing Bear Group business to client gaming business. It was sold to River iGaming in July as a way of becoming a B2B supplier.

Collins had a 3,80% stake in Gaming Realms. His total amount of shares in the company was 10,806,742. He also founded a bingo operator Cashcade with brands Foxy Bingo and Cheeky Bingo. In 2009 it was bought by PartyGaming for GBP 95.9 million.

Gaming Realm’s CEO Patrick Southon will remain on his position. He also took part in creation of Cashcade.

Significant Financial Results
Gaming Realm’s non-executive chairman Michael Buckley said of Collin’s exit:
“I would like to recognise Simon’s significant contributions to Gaming Realms and thank him for his commitment to the group. He has provided valuable insight and expertise in his roles as both an executive and non-executive director. We all wish him every success for the future.”

Gaming Realms had a 18% year-on-year increase in revenue in the first half of 2019. It was mostly due to the growth in their licensing division. The revenue for the six months leading to June 30th this year was GBP 3.2 million, which is up from GBP 2.7 million from the same time last year.

During this time, pre-tax losses were also cut from GBP 3.1m to GBP 2.5m.

An Agreement With Relax Gaming…
Gaming Realms has made a platform-to-platform agreement with Relax Gaming, open casino platform provider. Gaming Realms’ Slingo Originals portfolio of games will be distributed to their gaming platform.

Relax Gaming CEO Daniel Eskola has said that it was an easy decision to sign the agreement with Gaming Realm’s Slingo as it will provide the most engaging content from third party partners.

Southon added that the opportunity to distribute their games through a highly regarded platform is a clear endorsement of the potential of the Slingo Originals portfolio in regulated markets.

…and Another One With Scientific Games
Slingo Originals portfolio will also be distributed to Scientific Games with whom Gaming Realms has signed a three year deal.

“This agreement marks the continuation of the close partnership we have with SG Digital, having previously successfully worked together on the development and distribution of exciting games such as Slingo Rainbow Riches.”, said Patrick Southon

SG Digital’s SVP Casino, Dylan Slaney, added that “by offering Gaming Realms content on the system, we’re ramping up our platform and giving them access to more players. It’s a true win-win.”
