Widus becomes the first company in Clark, Philippines to receive regular gambling license
Widus Philippines Inc, owner and operator of the Widus Hotel & Casino in Clark Freeport, Philippines, said its casino has officially received the “regular” gambling license from Pagcor (Philippines Entertainment Gaming Company, the country’s gaming supervision agency). The company said it was the first company in the Clark area to receive Pagcor’s regular gambling cards.

“Widus Casino recently received regular gambling license–this is Clark’s first license,”said Neki Liwanag, assistant vice president of planning at Widus Philippines Inc.“It was approved at Pagcor’s July 8 board meeting.”
Widus Philippines Inc said that according to an earlier agreement with Pagcor, the company received regular gambling license after exceeding the minimum investment threshold. Ms. Liwanag said the company needed to invest 4.5 billion pesos ($86.6 million) in the four years aftersigning of the temporary gambling license in December 2014.
“According to our report to Pagcor on the release of regular gambling license, our external auditors verified that as of October 31, 2018, we invested a total of 10.176 billion Philippine pesos,”said Widus Philippine executives.
The first hotel building at the Widus Hotel and Casino opened in 2008 and was subsequently opened in December 2009. The second building opened in 2012 and the Clark Marriot Hotel opened in September last year.
